ABOUT US
The International Association of Students in Agricultural and Related Sciences (IAAS) is a non-governmental, non-political, and non-profit organization established in 1957, with its headquarters located at KU Leuven, Belgium. IAAS serves as a platform for students in agriculture and related fields to express their aspirations through various activities in agriculture and its related sciences.
Through IAAS programs, students are encouraged to develop their skills in finding solutions to challenges faced in the agricultural sector and related fields. In addition, this organization facilitates the exchange of information among students from various countries. Indonesia's participation in IAAS activities began in 1991 during the 36th World Congress in Thailand. IAAS Indonesia was later granted full member status at the 37th World Congress in Belgium.
IAAS Indonesia consists of 14 Local Committees (LC), namely: LC Institut Pertanian Bogor, LC Universitas Padjadjaran, LC Universitas Brawijaya, LC Universitas Lambung Mangkurat, LC Universitas Diponegoro, LC Universitas Mataram, LC Universitas Gadjah Mada, LC Universitas Sebelas Maret, LC Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, LC Universitas Udayana, LC Universitas Jember, LC UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung, LC Universitas Sriwijaya, and LC Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Yogyakarta.
IAAS LC Unpad was established on March 22, 1994, and was officially recognized as a university-level student organization (Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa/UKM) in 2018.
OUR OBJECTIVES
The primary objective of IAAS LC Unpad, in accordance with the Constitution and Bylaws of IAAS Indonesia, is to facilitate students in exchanging sustainable experiences, knowledge, and ideas in the field of agriculture and related sciences.
This main objective can be further elaborated as follows:
- To facilitate the exchange of ideas in agriculture and related sciences, including knowledge, field practices, and other forms;
- To establish and strengthen cooperation among organizations in the field of agriculture and related sciences;
- To prepare students to be competitive in facing professional challenges in the workforce, both in terms of knowledge and practical skills;
- To encourage and facilitate the development of Indonesian students in agriculture and related sciences;
- To promote sustainable agriculture, economy, and food production in Indonesia;
- To organize and conduct meetings, seminars, and training programs at local, national, and international levels in the field of agriculture and related sciences, which are accessible to everyone.
