Friday, August 1st, 2025 – Bandung. IAAS Indonesia has officially launched its annual program, the National Exchange Program (EXPRONAS) 2025. This initiative provides a platform for university students to spend their semester break in internships and volunteer activities. The event was attended by hundreds of participants from various universities across Indonesia, with IAAS Local Committees serving as organizers in each host city.

EXPRONAS 2025 is designed to provide hands-on field experience and an introduction to agricultural innovation in three featured destinations:

  1. Bumi Agro, which focuses on smart farming practices and sustainable horticulture.
  2. Desa Tani Agronative, which highlights an integrated farming system that supports rural community empowerment.
  3. Habibi Garden, which highlights agriculture technology based on the Internet of Things (IoT).

In addition to field practice, participants also receive mentoring sessions, discussions with industry practitioners, and group reflection to enhance their understanding and collaboration skills.

What are the Benefits of Technology and the Program’s Theme?

The main theme of EXPRONAS 2025 is “From Field to Future: Empowering Youth in Agriculture.” This program emphasizes the crucial role of young people in supporting national food security. By applying smart farming, integrated agriculture, and IoT in their fieldwork, students not only gain practical experience but also understand how technology can address challenges like food crises and environmental issues.

Participants’ enthusiasm was evident from the very first day. Many students shared that EXPRONAS offers a different and more impactful experience compared to their academic activities on campus.

“EXPRONAS has been one of the most exciting experiences! I learned many new things at Bumi Agro, and the internship program was both fun and truly helpful in developing my personal skills. Thank you, Bumi Agro. Thank you,  EXPRONAS!”

— Faza, Faculty of Agricultural Industrial Technology 2023

They also gained a greater awareness of the challenges facing the agricultural sector, from limited resources to technological adoption in communities. Despite these challenges, participants felt optimistic, as the program offered tangible solutions through direct practice.

Through collaboration between students, communities, and business professionals, IAAS Indonesia hopes that EXPRONAS 2025, especially IAAS LC UNPAD will not just be an internship experience but will also inspire the younger generation to make a real contribution to agriculture and create new innovations that benefit society.
