What is Science and Technology Department?
The Science and Technology Department (STD) is one of five departments within the IAAS LC Unpad organization. This department is tasked with improving the knowledge of IAAS LC Unpad members in the field of agrocomplex, particularly in the latest knowledge and technology in the world of agrocomplex. The featured program carried out by the Science and Technology Department of IAAS LC Unpad consists of five activities, namely Earth Day, IAAS Goes To Industry, Youth Agriculture, Agrinews, and Competition Preparation.
Work Program
- Agrinews
Agrinews is a forum for the Science and Technology Department members to discuss the latest information and facts in the world of agriculture or related sciences, the results of which are then uploaded in the form of posters or videos via the IAAS LC Unpad Instagram account. Agrinews, which is compiled during department meetings, will enhance the critical thinking skills of department members and train their public speaking abilities. Meanwhile, for all members of IAAS LC Unpad, Agrinews is expected to serve as an information platform regarding the world of agriculture and related sciences.
2. IAAS Goes To Industry (IGTI)
IAAS Goes to Industry is a work program of the Science and Technology Department (STD) of IAAS LC Unpad with the main purpose of becoming a forum to introduce the agricultural industry to IAAS members in order to understand more deeply about agrocomplex or agricultural science, starting from the initial stage to the final stage.
3. Earth Day
In commemoration of Earth Day, social and educational activities were held to reflect concern for the environment and fellow human beings. The event included donations to orphanages as a gesture of solidarity and support for children in need. Additionally, educational sessions and workshops on waste sorting were conducted by Bank Sampah Bersinar. Through these activities, participants were encouraged to better understand the importance of proper waste management and how small actions in daily life can have a significant impact on environmental sustainability.
4. Youth Agricareture (YACT)
Youth Agricareture (YACT) is an annual event organized simultaneously by 14 Local Committees of IAAS Indonesia, aiming to re-engage youth in the agricultural sector. Youth Agricareture (YACT) is implemented through two main activities: YACT Goes to Village and YACT Goes to School. This event is expected to increase the active contribution of young people in advancing agriculture through system improvements, innovation, and the use of technology.
5. Competition Preparation (Compre)
Competition preparation is a program that aims to promote competitions that IAAS LC Unpad members can potentially participate in, in various academic and non-academic fields. This program facilitates and provides guidance to IAAS LC Unpad members in preparing for a competition. Compre also provides opportunities for IAAS LC Unpad members to gain valuable experience in developing skills and showcasing their talents in a competitive environment.
