Village Concept Project
Get To Know VCP!
The Village Concept Project (VCP) is one of the programs of the Project Department in the development of villages in the fields of agriculture and education through community empowerment activities. VCP itself was popularized in the 1990s by IAAS Africa, and currently Indonesia, as a member of IAAS World, is the country with the most active VCP program in the world. This program aims to raise awareness about the use of local resources through creative innovations, especially in agriculture and environmentally friendly practices.
- Opening of the Village Concept Project 2025, Presentation, Azolla Cultivation, and Kokedama :
Making The Village Concept Project (VCP) 2025 kicked off with a brief presentation on Azolla cultivation and an introduction to the production of Azolla snack bars by the VCP IAAS LC Unpad team. This presentation aimed to explain creative innovations using Azolla as a base material, thereby encouraging public interest in the utilization of local resources, particularly in the KWT Harum Manis community. The next activity involved the distribution of Azolla seedlings in a prepared pond, aimed at raising community awareness of environmental issues and supporting sustainable agriculture. The activity continued with the creation of decorative kokedama plants using coconut husks as the medium. This aimed to maximize local resources into natural decorations that are easy to maintain and do not require much space.
- Azolla Snack Bar Production and Packaging
Azolla cultivated by KWT Harum Manis and peanuts harvested by KWT Harum Manis will be processed into snack bars. In addition to being healthy, this snack is also filling and serves as a new product to support the creativity and innovation of KWT Harum Manis members. The processing practice begins from harvesting to packaging using attractive and marketable packaging. This aims to enhance skills in processing local ingredients and improve the economic well-being of KWT Harum Manis members.
- Marketing and Closing of the Village Concept Project 2025
The products being marketed are Azolla snack bars and Azolla Cheese Sticks, which are the result of last year's Village Concept Project (VCP). Marketing is being done offline with the hope that members of the Harum Manis Women's Group will take concrete action to contribute to maximizing local resources and improving the economy. In addition, marketing can also be done online through social media. The event concluded with a closing ceremony and the symbolic presentation of a plaque to the Chairperson of the Harum Manis Women's Group.
